Scott RW RO130TC1ae

$59.95

Scott RO130TC1ae is a replica of a Private Die Proof Revenue Stamp. The Proofs were made for approval and then went into production of the stamps.

Keeping in mind that at this time there was no Federal Income Tax and the Federal Government needed to raise money to pay for the Civil War Effort, the Federal Government passed the Revenue Act of 1862.

When you needed to light a lantern, stove or fire you needed matches. Since there were no lighters, igniters or pilot lights, matches were needed by all.

This Revenue stamp was for the Aetna Match Company of St. Louis, Missouri.

Today, the Proofs sell for up to $225.00.

Comes Framed and mounted. The Frame measures 8″ x 12″ Great for Offices, Dens, Libraries, Studies and Reading Rooms!!

These 4” x 6” pictures are matted and framed for the cost of $29.95. They are truly beautiful and allow you to see the incredible detail that the engravers put into these stamps. The pictures are of actual stamps, not a picture of a picture of the stamp. Because of that we can only offer pictures of stamps that we have in inventory. Please allow 2-3 weeks for special order items.
